The Genie is out of the Bottle
Redesigning Primary Care in a Post-COVID World
Thursday, October 22, 2020 5:30 pm – 7:45pm
We invite you to please join DCHI for an informative and productive dialogue with national and local leaders to forge a greater understanding of the impact of COVID-19, future implications, and the opportunities presented to foster more significant investment in strengthening primary care.
The virtual forum will feature two sessions. The first session will involve national speakers who will provide a broad perspective about the COVID-19 experience– the evolving impact on primary care and the changes necessitated by the pandemic. The second session will include panel members who represent local payor organizations. They will respond to the information presented by the national speakers and give a local perspective on how payors view and are planning to address primary care as a vital component of our healthcare system in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis.
Critical Questions for the forum discussion will include:
How has primary care fared during COVID-19? What are the long-term implications?
What are the lessons learned for building a sustainable primary care system?
What is the additional capacity needed in primary care? What changes are necessary across the system to strengthen practices, especially to enhance providers’ ability to manage in times of crisis?
How can we scale and sustain best practices and successful innovations shaped during the crisis?
